Transfer of High School Credit
Parents who desire to transfer their independently homeschooled student to Real Life’s traditional high school program or Real Life Christian Academy Home School Division must have previous high school courses evaluated for transfer of credit. We evaluate courses individually, and granting of credit for previous work is not automatic. Applicants must provide evidence of equivalent work by providing a portfolio for each course. Each portfolio must contain:

1. A COURSE SYLLABUS including
a. A general description of the course
b. A listing of the course objectives
c. A bibliography that includes each primary text and any supporting materials the student read.
d. Grading criteria including the grading percentages used to compute the final grade.
e. Grade scale.

2. A COURSE PORTFOLIO that includes at least 10 graded assignments per course. Assignments may be projects, major tests, major assignments, reports, papers and similar items. Remember that the purpose of the portfolio is to demonstrate that the quality and depth of the work warrants transfer of credit to Real Life Christian Academy.

3. A STUDENT GRADE SUMMARY that includes letter or percentage grades for each assignment, each quarter, each semester, and final percentage or letter-grade given.

4. A LOG of total hours of class time. This should include the total class hours and a daily accounting of the hours spent on the class. Typically, 120 hours are needed for one credit, 60 hours for ½ credit.

COST
There will be a $50.00 charge per course to have credits evaluated.  Transfer credit from an accredited home school program, such as ABEKA video school, will be given without charge provided a proper transcript with grades is provided.
