In addition to our FACTS payment plan Real Life Christian Academy participates in the Step-Up Scholarships and McKay Scholarships, both part of Florida's School Choice program. Each of these provide funding for qualified parents who wish to transfer their child from a public school to another eligible public or private school, such as Real Life.
McKay Scholarship
The McKay Scholarship is available for students with documented disabilities to attend an eligible public or private school of their choice. Please visit the Florida School Choice web site for specific eligibility requirements, program details, the on-line application, and all application deadlines.
Please be aware that all students who wish to attend Real Life Christian Academy must meet our admissions requirements before enrollment. This means that some students who are eligible to receive a McKay scholarship might not be eligible for admission to the academy; it is not an entitlement to attend. Step-up Scholarship
The Step-Up Scholarship provides funding for students with limited financial resources to attend an eligible public or private school of their choice. Generally students who qualify for free and reduced lunches can qualify for a Step-Up Scholarship. For details and to apply please visit the Florida School Choice web site. This funding only covers a portion of the cost to attend Real Life, and parents are responsible for the balance.
RLCA Needs Based Aid
RLCA has a limited amount of tuition assistance, which can help fund part of the tuition costs. This aid is based on financial need and student citizenship. Priority is given to returning students. Because of the typical number of applications, individual funding amounts rarely exceed 20% of the cost of attending Real Life and is often less than that This is intended as a supplement, not as a complete funding source. Application is made through FACTS Tuition Aid and Grant Assessment. Applications can be completed on-line at www.factstuitionaid.com and submitting the required supporting materials, and paying the $20 application fee. The deadline for applying for Tuition Assistance Financial Aid for the following school year is mid-April.
Please note that all families must arrange funding prior to enrollment and that paying for a Real Life education is the ultimate responsibility of parents.
