Each year we choose a theme to focus the academy throughout the school year. For 2010-2011 our theme is "Honor one another." The guiding passage of Scripture come from Romans 12:10.
We live in a culture that often promotes self over service, revenge over respect and grudges over goodness. It sometimes feels unnatural to honor other people - especially if we believe they have not earned it. Yet the context of this passage affirms that we should leave any thought of getting back at another person up to God. Each of us should react with kindness and empathy. This is a trait that each academy student must exemplify and is one key for success as adults.
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves.
